Pink Floyd Tribute Band Plays Detroit,

Proceeds Benefit Young Man with Autism

On Saturday, September 27, 2014, Echoes of Pink Floyd, the Midwest’s premier Pink Floyd tribute band, will play at the Majestic Theater in Detroit. All proceeds from the concert will benefit the Porter Lorien Creasman Support Trust, also known as Musician Friends of Porter.

“We were set on playing Detroit, and once we spoke with the guys from Musician Friends of Porter, we knew we wanted to partner with them for the show,” said Tom Beller, Echoes of Pink Floyd bassist.

Echoes of Pink Floyd has played around the midwest for years, but has not been back to Detroit since 2012. The show comes at a perfect time, as Pink Floyd recently announced the release of their first new album in over 20 years.

The band will reveal a newly designed laser light show in Detroit and allow fans to dictate the setlist by voting for their favorite songs on Echoes of Pink Floyd’s Facebook page.  Also, Illuminatus will be projecting its ILDA award winning laser show on the outside of the Theater as part of the DLectricity event, making this the largest laser event in the Midwest for that weekend

Musician Friends of Porter was established for the young son of local musician Brandon Creasman who passed away in 2010. Creasman’s son Porter is autistic, and music has been very therapeutic in his development.

“Porter’s mother and family do an amazing job raising him, taking care of him and making sure all his needs are met. My fellow trustees and I just wanted to make sure that we could bring music into Porter’s life like his father would have done,” said Steve Szajna of Szajna Dynasty Media and Musician Friends of Porter trustee.

“We hope people come out to celebrate samplings from Pink Floyd’s entire catalog and support this wonderful young man,” said Beller.

Warming up the stage for the evening will be the 2013 Detroit Blues Society Winner: Dirty Basement Band

Tickets are available on the Majestic Theater website (majesticdetroit.com) for $20 in advance or $25 at the door.
